| Where
did you attend school & what was your major? |
|
I graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle in December of 1999 with an Associates Degree in Computer Animation.
I wasn't interested in pursuing commercial art after all so I decided to go back to school.
I then attended Lipscomb University and graduated in December of 2005 with a BA in Art Education. |
| How
long have you been at Eakin? |
|
This will be my first year teaching my own class at Eakin, although I did my student teaching here last fall. |
| Do
you have previous teaching experience? |
|
I had two interim positions last year one at Norman Binkley Elementary and one at Percy Priest Elementary. |
| What
led you to teaching? |
|
I've had wonderful teachers through out my educational career. It's too difficult to pick just one
teacher as the one who inspired me to become a teacher. Growing up I thought I would be a math teacher
if I ever decided to teach, but here I am teaching art. I love working with kids and opening their eyes to the world of art. |
| What
is your favorite part of teaching and interacting with children?
Do you have any special interests or what is your favorite part
of the school year? |
|
I like the beginning of the year because I get a chance to meet new people. I enjoy the process of getting to know my students through out the year.
Watching the students improve from the beginning to the end is such a wonderful experience.
Seeing their delight in discovering what they really can do is what motivates me every day. |
| What
is your preferred method of communication? |
