IIYC Update

Invest committee met to create a proposal for a capital campaign to coincide with the 2005-2006 school year

Each committee member made a proposal of ideas and shared their investigations

3 recommendations made for the 05-06 year

Fund construction of new playground to coincide with the new building

Fund the library with 5,000 dollars for 300 new non-fiction books

Consider providing assistance for a foreign language after school programs.

IIYC has $50,000 goal to fund options 1 and 2

Mrs. Ross will contact Metro to discuss the building of a new playground

Vote taken to separate IIYC funds from the general PTO budget for the 2005-2006 school year.

No dinner for carnival next year

PTO will change banks from AMSouth to First Tennessee

501c3 designation must be prepared to receive matching funds and tax deductions. Process is underway

A line item has been added to the budget for facility improvement to possibly accommodate lattice work around the portables

Teacher support money

Technology line item used to pay for technology class this fall for 23 homeroom teachers

Teachers will receive 100 dollars at the beginning of school and 100 dollars in early December after completion of the course and another 50 dollars in January.

Total cost $4,600

Other staff may request professional development money to pay for course as well

Finalized budget will be available in August for approval

Bylaw Revision

A copy of revisions was distributed

Proposal will be voted on in August
